Continuing to assess our identity is crucial for us to better nurture our members and ensure we remain relevant across this country. This will inevitably strengthen NANM and secure our place in history for the next 100 years.

Establish National, Member-led Task Forces

Create national, member-led, multi-generational task forces to define the future direction of our organization. These national task forces will include members, collegiate, and youth representatives from each region to ensure equity among the regions and balance of practice while creating a pathway for succession. These task forces will support national initiatives to include:

Guides NANM’s long-term direction and growth. This task force develops visionary goals, formulates strategic initiatives, and assesses organizational effectiveness. Through collaboration and foresight, this task force ensures the organization remains adaptive, innovative, and aligned with its mission and values for sustainable success.

Enhances the skills and knowledge of musicians and educators. This task force organizes workshops, seminars, and training programs (online and in person) to provide valuable resources and opportunities for continuous learning and career advancement, ensuring the music community remains vibrant, informed, and professionally equipped.

Promotes the value of music through public policy influence and strategic alliances. The task force works to create programs that enhance music education and build collaborations with educational institutions, cultural organizations, and government agencies to expand the impact and reach of music programs nationwide.

Preserves and documents the rich heritage of music. This task force curates and maintains historical records, artifacts, and archives, ensuring the legacy of our musical traditions and achievements is accessible to future generations and serves as an educational resource.

Work with the National Second Vice President to implement a comprehensive membership database that allows us to gather detailed information about each member as well as regional activities to foster a sense of community nationwide

Following established guidelines and procedures, and developing appropriate, relevant policies for our organization, is essential for maintaining a clear and transparent structure for leadership at local, regional, and national levels. This approach is key to our unity and success.

Establish a National Fiscal Governance Task Force

Led by the national treasurer and assistant treasurer, this body is comprised of seasoned finance professionals from each region to ensure the financial integrity of and sustainability of NANM by providing financial oversight, budget management, audit and compliance, risk management, financial reporting and eventually long-term financial strategic planning for the national organization to include the regions. This task force plays a crucial role in maintaining financial stability and accountability ensuring that NANM can effectively pursue its artistic objectives

Establish a National Policy & Governance Task Force

Comprised of seasoned parliamentarians from each region alongside the national parliamentarian, this body reviews existing policies, identifies areas for improvement and recommends new, relevant policies and procedures where appropriate to ensure that policies are comprehensive and considerate of the entire organization's needs because of the diverse perspectives and experiences of the body. This task force will publish findings and updates to maintain transparency and foster a sense of collective responsibility and unity within the organization
